hello beautiful self care girlies! Let’s talk about self-care sundays! Weekdays can be totally hectic and weekends can be even more hectic sometimes. We need Sundays to unwind, relax, take care of ourselves and prepare for the upcoming week.
What is self-care Sunday?
self-care Sunday is taking a day completely to yourself to unwind relax and prioritize your happiness. It means saying no to anything that isn’t in line with taking care of yourself and making you happy for that day. It includes eating healthy foods you love, taking a bubble bath, prioritizing yourself as well as doing anything that makes you happy and that makes you feel relaxed. Self-care Sundays help to reduce stress, improve your overall happiness and help you to be more prepared for the hectic week ahead. They are so important!

It is so easy to get caught up in the everyday 9:00 to 5:00 and to forget about taking care of yourself. Self Care Sundays are days to relax, reflect and prepare yourself for the next week. It is so easy to forget about your own health and happiness and become burnt out. So self-care Sundays are extremely important to remind us that we need to put ourselves first sometimes.

1. Create your own at home spa day
Creating the perfect at home spa day for yourself is super relaxing and fun. Take a relaxing bath with a bath bomb or a nice hot shower with really nice smelling body scrubs and body lotions. Make sure to wear your favorite pajamas or your favorite comfy outfit around the house for the day.
You can light your favorite candles, paint your nails and toes, do a nice moisturizing hair mask, order in some delicious but still healthy food, put on your favorite rom-com and do a pore cleansing or hydrating face mask!
I love spending my self care Sundays doing an at home spa day because it is super relaxing and a lot of fun.
2. Try a new workout routine
search through YouTube and find a brand new workout routine to try. You can search a nice relaxing stretching routine, a new Pilates routine to challenge yourself, or just a full body workout to get your endorphins up and get your blood flowing.
Exercising is proven to improve your mood so spending your day doing some relaxing stretches or healthy exercise is a great way to give your body some love.
3. Write positive affirmations
Choose your favorite notebook and and a cute pen- I always love pretty stationary hehe. Then write down positive self-love affirmations and save them out loud.
Then write down three things you like about yourself. Just as self care is so important, so is self love. Spend your self-care Sunday by writing down all the things you are grateful for and all the things you like about yourself physically or internally or both.
You can also write down three things you don’t like about yourself and how you are going to change them for the better.
4. Read a book outside
Any way that you can get out into nature is going to boost your mood. It’s always healthy and good to go and get fresh air and just to get out of the house and spend some time in the outdoors.
5. Go for a self care Sunday walk
Just like what we mentioned in number four it is always good to get outside. It can get depressing if you just stay indoors all day everyday especially if you are someone who works from home.
I love to take my headphones with me and listen to my favorite music and go for an hour long walk it really helps me to recharge and think about life.
6. Cook your favorite meal
Food! We we all love food! Cooking your favorite meal can really help to boost your mood if you are someone who loves cooking or if you are a big foodie person.
Even if you are not a big foodie person it is always joyful to eat your favorite foods. If you are really someone who doesn’t like to cook, then order in your favorite takeout instead.
7. Have a glass of wine…or two…or three
Enjoy a nice glass of wine or even a few glasses of wine.
I am definitely guilty of doing this one multiple times on multiple Sundays. Nothing is more fun sometimes then getting a bottle of red or white wine and watching old music videos.
8. Take a bath for self care Sunday
This kind of goes back to the whole create your own spa day. But if you don’t want to create a whole spa day, even simply just taking a nice hot bath with some salts or a nice smelling bath bomb can be all you need to recharge and have a nice self care Sunday.
9. Clean or reorganize your room
if you are someone who loves rearranging furniture and home decor, then spending yourself here Sunday redecorating your bedroom can really be soothing and bring you a lot of joy.

10. Go Shopping
Spend your day shopping at your favorite store. Whether that is spending your day at the mall, going to homesense, or going thrifting.
11. Prioritize Sleep
if you have a day off to yourself it’s also great to just rest and recharge your batteries.
12. Paint or Draw – go creative!
spend the day drawing in your sketchbook or painting an inspirational piece of art. Spending the day doing something creative will really make you feel good and will also make you feel like you will productive.
13. Hang out with people that bring your energy up
Spend the day with friends and family who bring you positive energy. Surround yourself with people that bring you up and that make you feel happy.
14. Book a self care Sunday appointment
Book a luxurious appointment such as getting your nails done, going for a deep tissue in massage, or anything that just makes you feel good and excited.
15. Redecorate your room or home
Redecorating your bedroom, living room, or any space in your home can really make it feel like brand new. I personally love your decorating my room on self-care days because it makes me feel good.

16. Go Rock Climbing
Rock Climbing is actually a really great workout and a lot of fun.

To pamper yourself on Sunday you should choose something that really makes you happy and makes you feel relaxed. For example you can take a bath, do a face mask, go for a walk or whatever makes you feel good.

You can give yourself a self care day by doing things that you love and make you happy. Choose a few things to do that day the old brighten your mood.
